Know Your Hemispheres! Penguins DO NOT live in the Arctic. Although it is possible for somebody to take some there, the Arctic is not their natural habitat. Penguins only live in the southern hemisphere, and only two of the 17 species of penguin actually live in the Antarctic. The rest prefer warmer (southern hemisphere) weather. Neither do penguins have fur. They have feathers because they are BIRDS! Although they don't fly, they swim with an action that resembles flying more than the swimming motion of mammals and fishes. The Arctic also has birds that seem to "fly" through the water (puffins and murres), but they are not penguins. And... polar bears do not eat penguins, because polar bears do not live in the southern hemisphere. They only live in the Arctic, and where there is Arctic sea ice. Remember this. We might give a test later.
