The "Book of Ice" is Changing

Inuit have lived in harmony with the Arctic world and it's living resources for centuries, and harvesting and hunting are at the heart of their culture and way of life.

Hunters spend a lifetime learning to read the signs of the land and sea, and developing the skills needed for survival. For millenia, this knowledge has been passed down from generation to generation.

However, global warming is changing the Arctic environment. The sea ice that is essential for both travel and hunting has begun to change.

What you now see on the surface of the ice does not always represent what is under the ice - according to the traditional knowledge - and even the most skilled hunters are increasingly becoming involved in accidents.

Rules that have stood the test of centuries are suddenly changing, and this presents a modern-day problem - how do you continue to pass this knowldege down to future generations?
